Hello Everypony,

I am pleased to announce that we have joined forces with the guys from LASER

who recently had a hugely successful meet up with over 45 attending bronies!

There was a little chat between the lovely guys at LASER and an idea was

formed. Friendship IS magic and the more friends you have the more fun you

have.

From this little chat it soon became apparent that we should work together

and not try to keep ourselves separate and end up causing confusion and

discord throughout the UK brony community.

What started as a small conversation soon spread to an idea, that idea? We

should unite, and unite we have! This has come to the formation of the

United Kingdom of Equestria. Our aim is to provide a central location for all

UK and English bronies to unite in chat, fun and event organising.

Now I must address some concerns I am sure you will have, the first and most

important is going to be in bold so there is no misunderstanding.

The London Pub meet is not cancelled, or changed in any way.

This means that nothing has changed, the same team are involved. The same

plan is in effect, the same everything in fact is going forward. However with

the joining of the groups the guys from LASER will be helping out too so

nothing will be taken away, just lots of awesomeness added.

Over at ukofequestria.co.uk you will find a lovely forum which has been hand

crafted for all of our pony needs, some places to kick back and chat and a

far better way to get event information out in a sensible way without

causing confusion. People can be kept up to date in good time and changes

can be applied to all areas to avoid any confusion.

This site will be left alive but dormant as all further updates will go via

the new site which we really look forward to seeing you on!

Hi there everypony,

Another week has shot by and news is needed. We have been emailing venues like crazy and finding pubs around the London area so almost there on having a home for the event.

People have been contacted and people have contacted us, so we have lots of talking going about on all levels.

In other news yesterday there was a London based meet which was a huge success and has been mentioned on Equestria Daily which is totally awesome. I know some of you popped along so hi to those who went, sadly I wasn't able to attend myself due to a bit of illness so a bit sad I missed out on this.

In other news we now have a Twitter feed and a common E-mail address which all of us can access. This should help with keeping in contact with everypony and providing a way to get updates out to everyone.

I am also on the day going to have a spare mobile phone and I have a PAYG SIM card knocking about so what I will do is publish the number shortly before the event so anyone who needs to contact us by phone can do so or text us. This means if you get lost finding us don't panic phone us and we should be able to help out.

Poster O poster where art thou poster?

Hey Everypony,

Things are moving along nicely and in the next few weeks we will be going into promo phases when we can get a venue we really like that can provide what we need.

Costs are being calculated and looks like we will be renting out an event room :) this will allow us to do what we like without any awkwardness :D The quiz rounds are in the final edits which means spell checking and prettying up the screens. My monitor has never seen this much pink lol, and that's just Pinkie running about on desktop ponies!

Now before I digress too much, about the promo. So far we have a rough design for a poster but I'm sure some creative folks can produce something amazing. I'm not going to set too many rules on this, actually as few as I can manage. The only rules are it must include the list below and be a flat 2D image for going up on websites (hopefully EqD amongst others) and being distributed about.

List of requirements:

Maximum A4 for printing reasons but remember it will get shrunk down on sites like EqD
The name of the event which is.... London Brony Pub Day
The venue location with small map - leave a gap for this because we aren't 100% sure on which venue yet
The Date which is 04/02/2012, you can format this how you like.
Time which is going to be noon til late

Cosplay? Sure why not!

Hey Everypony,

Little bit of a random post this one but it was something that has come up in discussion a few times. Cosplay tends to be a bit of an odd one to bring up so I am going to start with this, by no means is cosplay at this event compulsory :) but if you however feel like busting out some pony related cosplay it would be awesome to see!

After a chat with my girlfriend she started to have a look round for various things and found a lovely contact willing to make you ears, wings, necklaces and other miscellaneous pony related cosplay stuff :)

Amber is based on Etsy and ships from the USA to the UK! Trust me after looking at various sites and trying to get hold of odds and ends this is something rather rare, her shop is listed below:

Lists of lists for lists

Hello Everypony,

Sharpy here just giving you all a quick line on how things are progressing,

The first thing I will say on how things are going is how well they are going.

There are no problems with the date so far and venues are being contacted and negotiations starting, The blind bag finds have made some prizes easier to source. Some other prizes for activities are also being sourced as we speak so there will be Pony up for grabs.

The entertainment is well on the way to being sorted out, stream is on the cards still. Music is well on the way. Graphics are being doodled out.

So to sum up all of this Chaos, the project is still in full swing. There is little concrete to put up yet but wanted you all to know there are no problems and the quiet space has been due to us all being busy bees and not a sign of problems.

What I would love everyone to do is to keep spreading word of this. So tell all your brony/pegasis friends out there :D let them know. This is going to be a lot of fun!

In a personal note I am so excited to see the site counter go over the 2k mark! wow that's so amazing I just don't know what to say :D

We have a confirmed date!

Hello Everypony!

I hope you are all well and have enjoyed this weeks episode and if you haven't seen it yet then run over to derpyhooves.com and grab a download or watch it on Youtube.

Now lets begin... with the date! After lots of talking, a few looks at various calenders and a few texts around we have come up with the following date *drumroll*

Saturday 4th February 2012

Of course this date depends on the world not ending but other then that pop it into your social calenders it is very unlikely to be changed unless we really have no other option.

Now onto other things....

Plans are still progressing we have some more help in with venues and progress has moved forward in all areas. Prizes are being located for competitions and ideas are still swimming about so stay tuned more is to come.

I also promised you all the answer to my post a few days ago. I am happy with the feedback and have taken on board some suggestions so have started work on the real questions and getting Photoshop to behave.

The answer was: Bon-Bon. For the real one I will be able to use some of the Mane 6 but I couldn't use them for the problem of suitable screenshots being hard to find so limiting my options a bit.

Pub Quiz Idea

Hi everypony,

Another random update from me to keep you all up to speed.

I am working on the pub quiz as I got some positive feedback about it and it seems like fun. As well as normal questions I am thinking of adding in a few different rounds.

This may be things like "What was said next?" This will be where a clip is played from the show and you have to guess what was said next.

Another idea I want to test out is "Guess the missing pony" round. This is where I will censor out a pony from a scene and you will have to guess who is missing. I have drawn up an example scene, this will obviously not be used in the real quiz and I have made it on the harder end of the scale so this would likely be somewhere towards the end of the round.

A few things I want to note as well,

1. This is a rough draft so has been done using MS Paint. The real thing would be done properly using Photoshop so it will look a lot better.
   
2. Please try to do this without cheating, I am trying to find out how hard it is, so feedback is good if you don't know the answer.

   This is so others can have a go, so please don't put your answer in the comments. But please comment on if you think its easy, hard or impossible. Or if you think the whole idea is a bit rubbish.

The Day Plan (Rough draft)

Hi Everypony,

Sharpy here. A quick introduction before I begin. I am helping organise the meet along with the team so I will occasionally post on here as well to keep you all informed of what we have planned so far. That way you can all give us feedback on what you think and we can change things if people don't like them. So with that said here is the rough plan, more will be added as ideas flow in.

Date: This is still really open for debate. When do you all feel would be a good time. We are thinking a Saturday possibly after Christmas when people have money.

Location: London, this is due to the results on the poll previously posted.

Venue: This is still unconfirmed but we are thinking a Pub with an event room open for hire.

Age restrictions: We are going to work hard on preventing these and with private function room it shouldn't be a problem. Just if you are under 18 please don't try and buy alcohol as this will reflect badly on the group.

Time: We are hoping to kick things off between 11 and 12. This will allow plenty of time for people to meet and get to know each other.

Activity/Entertainment Plan:

This again is still a very early Idea but this is what we think might work so far,

Everyone start to arrive sometime after 11, we will have set up a projector and have various related stuff playing. Mostly PMVs, Funny fan created skits, Music etc while we settle down and get to know each other so don't worry if you are a bit of a Fluttershy :) we are all here to make friends and have fun.

We are then planning on showing an episode or two for everyone to watch and enjoy. I know for many it will be the first time they get to enjoy an Episode with like minded people. We will probably decide the episodes on the day so everyone can say what they want.

Now this should bring us up to the right moment, and this is why we thought a Saturday would be best. We intend to put up one of the live streams of the new episode so we can all watch the new one together.

After the episode we will resume the random videos and background music while we all mingle and chat.

Perhaps some games will be fun, a pub quiz is a possibility. But please give feedback on this one, I want this to be a good meet up and a real community effort so if you have ideas for games, music etc please drop us a comment.


I think that about wraps up this rather long post. Feedback is of course welcome, so don't be shy if you don't like something.

exciting stuff going on now, with the poll on the way and discussing a good few ideas, it looks like this is really gonna go down, again any ideas or help you can offer with either the site or the planning side is always much appreciated. I'm really hoping to get a site banner soon I've been sketching some rough ideas myself but anyone who is a better artist then me (anypony) who wants to have a go feel more than welcome.

Lets do this

Hey everypony,
I'm already really pleased with the amount of interest this has got (i am guessing a lot is fro ED), now i have a few things i will most certainly need help with.
First off my thoughts were to have a meet up in somewhere like portsmouth or bournemouth since they are easy to get to for people on trains and they are small enough not to get lost around the town, but i am open to suggestions on places you may think would be good (please keep in mind it may be getting colder say we may want somewhere indoors).
Secondly if anyone out there is any good at graphic deign i could really use someone to create an official banner and would also have handy to make things like posters to get out and about.
And lastly if anyone thinks they can help with this site and has more experience with it than i (which is easy to have) i would much appreciate it and add you to be one of the admins, but let it be known if you abuse your position you will be sent to the moon.

Hi Taylor here, I've been looking for bronies in hampshire and the surrounding areas but I'm not having a lot of luck. i only really know of me and my two friends who share our unique love for those bubbly equine creatures. i hope if we get enough people interested to get a meet up going in our area, so please feel free to contact me or comment so we can get in touch.
